This took place in Athens, Greece in November. The people were constantly protesting and marching, this specific time was the KKE party voicing their opinions before an election. In the beginning of the video you can see that we are on a bus coming back from a trip only to be stuck in traffic for hours. Finally we go on foot in order to get through Athens to our apartments. Along the way we walk through the most politically stirred part of the metropolitan city. Dumpsters and cars were set on fire, literally across the street from where we were bought dinner. It is one thing to see a fire already taking place, but to actually see when someone is trying to light/explode something physically feet away from you is another.
Paris, France
While camping in Paris in October 2010 we encountered what many Parisians called a 'Civil War.' This peaceful demonstration closed down the major museums of the city.
Luxor, Egypt
Weeks before the Egyptian revolution took place right on the very street where I had bought the ankh of life from a street dweller, I made an excursion to Luxor by overnight train. This was probably the most relaxed I had been in years, sailing down the Nile River in a faluka.
